How To Keep Your Mac Apps Updated With MacUpdate

The best way to fight viruses and issues with your Mac is knowing how to keep your Mac apps updated. You can manually check each app version by selecting the “check update” in the app menu for every app you own, but if you are like me, and have hundreds of apps, that is too cumbersome and hard to stay up to date with. There is an easier way for us Mac users and it’s called MacUpdate.

MacUpdate is an application (and service) that checks through all of your installed apps on your Mac and tells you which ones are up to date and which ones need updating. You can then click on a button to automatically update the app from within MacUpdate. It will provide you with your current app version and what the latest version is and what updates that version has. Very handy if you are in the middle of a project and want to know if any of the updates will affect you and/or your current project.

If the update is a “paid update”, it will also warn you guide you through the purchase. I find this app an invaluable app for me as I always want to make sure I have the latest versions of my apps.

The app itself is free, but to use it, you have to have a yearly subscription. As of today, the subscription fee is $20 per year.
